We love our bedroom.
Making small changes seasonally gives the room a fresh look.
Making small changes seasonally gives the room a fresh look.
Introducing our winter 2012 bedroom.....
We reloved last winters shams, bedskirt, drapery panels and black print throw pillows.
We also change our lampshades to compliment the fabrics.
You may remember our summer 2011 bedroom.
The light fabrics are perfect for summer, but it was time to winter warm the room.
The light fabrics are perfect for summer, but it was time to winter warm the room.
We need 3 layers of decorative bed pillows or the bed looks unfinished.
That is not a decorating rule. That is a Marla OC issue.
Checks add a fun touch with pops of red to warm the room.
A lightweight white quilt makes every accessory in every season stand out.
We don't care for matchy matchy so it's fun to decorate with this and that.
All of our linens are reused and reloved.
There is purposely no photo of our dresser.
It holds a very old, ugly TV that refuses to die.
We can't even give it away.
Thanks for taking our winter bedroom tour.

Love the black and white check! I just leave everything as is in our bedroom. I do put a throw at the end of the bed. That is my nod to a winter bedroom. : )
ReplyDeleteYour bedroom is very pretty Marla! I love the curtains and the pretty linens on the bed.
ReplyDeleteThats so pretty Marla.. we have the same check and floral fabrics~! I also have a white mattelasse spread:) are we twins? lol..

It looks so nice, love the changes, it looks warm and cozy. Amazing how just a lamp shade can change the feel in a room! :D
ReplyDeleteI love the pop of red, Marla! Such a wonderful winter bedroom!
ReplyDeleteOoh so pretty! I am sure the changes make it feel fresh and new with each season. I think we may have the brother/sister of your TV in our bedroom. :)
ReplyDeleteMarla and Steve,
ReplyDeleteLove your bedroom. The colors are great together. I like the mixture of patterns. Looks great.
Kathy

Okay Marla and Steve, how do you agree on your ideas? Who contributes what? My husband and I take forever to agree on decorating things; sometimes it never happens. Sooo... no change of season bedding for us. lol
ReplyDeleteWhat a cozy and attractive room you've created!
I am loving your winter bedroom Marla! Beautiful!
ReplyDeleteI don't like Matchy Matchy either. You guys did a nice job. Are your walls gray?
ReplyDeleteLooks very relaxing and inviting! Love your choice of pattern too.
ReplyDeleteLovely, warm and welcoming, a perfect master bedroom. I think your seasonal changes are each so terrific!
ReplyDeleteIt looks so pretty Marla. I would like to at least change the pillows on my bed for a fresh look, just need to find the ones I like!! Have a great weekend.
ReplyDeleteLove it. Of course, black and white with pops of red is one of my favorite color palettes. I'm another one who likes 3 layers of pillows. Looks comfy!
ReplyDeleteIt is great...love the black and white check...love no matchy matchy...great job!
ReplyDeleteWhat a beautiful bedroom Marla!
ReplyDeleteI love the french country feel to it and how you have made so cozy too!
And your thank-ful tree is really superb, what a great idea!
Hugs friend,
Cindy
Tried to post this earlier, but the whirly thief stole my comment. I love the black gingham no matter how it's used. It's perfect, IMO, for a master BR. With the red for winter, it just looks fabulous!
ReplyDeleteMarla, you are so blessed to have a partner in design! I know you know that, but I'm saying it anyway. I love my Sir Lotsa Hair, but he is color blind and otherwise handicapped in that area. At least he smiles and supports my misadventures.
Hi Marla and Steve!
ReplyDeleteJust five pillows??? How can that be? I bet Steve had something to do with that.... It makes getting into bed way too easy!
I always love the look of a white matelasse coverlet. So fresh and also easy to accessorize.
Hope all is well.
xoxo Bunny Jean

Ur bedroom is lovely, i have one of those tv's myself, we wont replace it til it does die, but im ok with that.......its big and bulky, and i seem to take comfort in "filled" spaces when i decorate, lol......i love ur use of color, and the all white quilt...good to see u..............Bonnie
