We love change.
OK, that was a fib.
Steve hates change.
Marla loves change.
Marla loves change.
Steve loves Marla.
We love change.
See how that works.

Flowers were fine, for awhile.
The chicken wire frame from the recent wedding was reloved on our wall.

This sweet pumpkin was just begging for some decorations.
Quick, easy. cheap - our favorite way to decorate.
Quick, easy. cheap - our favorite way to decorate.
All it took was...
a dollar bin stencil, black Sharpie, and a fabric bow made from selvage.
Scored two packages of these stencils at $1 per package at Michaels.
Middle daughter's apartment needs love and these are her fabric choices.
Missing those sweet grandbabies. Isn't the photo the sweetest?
Scrabble tiles and burlap. Again - quick, easy, cheap.

How do you and yours handle change? Big changes, little changes?
Do not withhold good from those who deserve it, when it is in your power to act.

Oh I adore your changes, and I adore change in the home seasonally, so we would all get along just fine LOL!
ReplyDeleteYou have such great decorating ideas Marla!
ReplyDeleteLove that look!
Hubby used to hate change but now he seems to like it...with prodding from me! hehe.
I bet you do miss those darling grandbabies!
Hugs,
Cindy
Cute, cute...haven't started the fall decorating...need to do so before my game party on Friday..thanks for the nudge
ReplyDeletePlease ~ I could use some little changes since I've had such big changes going on the past month, Marla! Although, I will say, I think I adapt pretty well to change. I haven't had a meltdown yet! : ) Love your fall touches; those scrabble tiles on the burlap are really neat. I need to find some scrabble tiles and get a project going with them, especially since I love playing Scrabble!
ReplyDeleteLove the stenciled pumpkin and I know I've mentioned I adore that lampshade before but wanted to say it again..
ReplyDeleteSonny doesnt like change unless its her idea- then, its great, otherwise NO:) thinkin that translates to Control freak- right? dang good thing I handle all household issues decor and otherwise or there could be trouble.. lol
I love change...it brings growth. Love your change here too and the pumpkin idea is great, love it too! :D
ReplyDeleteOh, I have to say, I love change, it so inspires me! Great fall touches. I do love your little vignette with the lamp and pumpkin on it, it's so adorable!
ReplyDeleteI love the way you started this post. That's hilarious! I'm glad that Steve loves Marla (and Marla loves Steve). And it's fun to see how things work for you!
ReplyDeleteCute, cute! I think my hubby and I are trading places on the change thing. He used to hate it but he's loosening up while I'm wanting less change. Hopefully we meet in the middle.
ReplyDeleteLoving your little changes, Marla. I am thinking J loves Pat+Pat loves J and change=J loves change.:-)
ReplyDeleteWe are planning big changes for 2012. While we look forward to those changes, we know it will be a tad daunting.
It shocks me for you to say "Steve hates change". It is pretty obvious he would have to bend to stay with you:)
ReplyDeleteI'm pathetic at change, and I married a man just like me. Good thing we like being fuddy duddies together.
ReplyDeleteLoved your simple pumpkin creation. Little change/big difference.
I really love your cute and easy pumpkin! The chicken wire picture frame is so cute, but those scrabble letters are ADORABLE! I love your daughters fabric choices, ooh la la!

ReplyDeleteHi Marla, I was here yesterday and I must have gotten distracted and not left a comment.
ReplyDeleteI was thinking how Steve doesn't have a chance with keeping things the same. He must have learned long ago to adapt to all your creativity ;)
xoxo Bunny Jean

Marla,
ReplyDeleteYou're back! My goodness I thought you had closed your blog :( When I tried to click on your link several months ago, it said your blog wasn't there anymore and yet here you are with a new blog title and banner :O) Yay, I'm so glad I "re-found" you again!
I love the fall decor and in fact that was one of the things I really missed was your "change-up" style decorating!
So...hello again old Oregon friend glad you are here,
Terry
I'm with you! LOVE change. Well, most of the time. Still trying to adjust to the dining room changes... :-)
ReplyDeleteLove your fall-pumpkin look. Don'tcha just look soooo forward to it? Love me some cinnamon candles, cider and pumpkins.

I don't like change but little changes tend to do me in more than the major ones. Wonder why that is?
ReplyDeleteAnyway, love the decorations and the stenciling on the pumpkin is genius!
Don't you think it a guy thing to resist change, lol. Both my sons are no change oriented. Me and my girls are all about change :)
ReplyDeleteLove your fall decor -- gotta get me a chicken wire frame :)
Blessings!
Gail
Marla, you make me smile... :)
